Wondering About God?

Six Principles of Salvation
1).  God is in charge.

(Genesis 14:22) “the Lord God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth.”
(Psalms 103:19) “The Lord has established His throne in the heavens; And His sovereignty rules over all.”

2).  God makes the rules and sets the standard.
(1 Peter 1:16) “You shall be holy for I am holy”
(Ezekiel 18:4) “the soul who sins will die”
(Isaiah 59:2) "your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God"
(Leviticus 22:21) “And when a man offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the LORD ...  it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.”

3).  Jesus lived the life we cannot live!

(Ecclesiastes 7:20) “ Indeed, there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins.”
(Romans 3:23) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”
(Hebrews 4:15) “[Jesus] was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”

4).  Jesus died the death we dare not die!

(Hebrews 9:27) “it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment”
(John 1:29) “The next day he [John the Baptist] saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
(Romans 3:25 LB) “For God sent Christ Jesus to take the punishment for our sins and to end all God’s anger against us. He used Christ’ blood and our faith as the means of saving us from His wrath.”
(2 Corinthians 5:21) “He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

5).  Jesus rose from the dead with the new life we need!

(Isaiah 43:10-11) "10 “... know and believe Me And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, And there will be none after Me. 11 “I, even I, am the Lord, And there is no savior besides Me."
(John 8:23-24) “23 I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
(John 5:21, 26) 21 “For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wishes.” 26 “For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself”
(John 5:54) “I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.
(John 14:6) “Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”
(Acts 4:12) "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved."
6).  Jesus calls us to respond.

Here's What He Asks:

1.      Repent -- Repentance is being sorry for breaking God’s rules and asking Him to forgive you. It  also means that you have decided to change the direction of you life and to obey Him.
(Luke 24:46-47)  46 “... He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead the third day; 47 and that repentance for forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.’”
(Acts 17:30)  “... God is now  declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, ...”

(Acts 26:20) “... repent and turn to God, performing deeds appropriate to repentance.”

(2 Cor. 7:10) “For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation; but the sorrow of the world produces death.”

(Acts 3:19) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,"

(1 John 1:9) "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"
2.      Believe -- To believe is the same thing as FAITH, CONFIDENCE or TRUST. We trust God to
tell us the truth. We also trust that He will do what He says He will do.
(John 5:24)(John 5:24) “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
(John 11:25)  Jesus said ..., “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me shall live even if he dies, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die.”
(Rom. 10:8-11)  8 “The word is near you, in your mouth and in  your heart”-- that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe  in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; 10 for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and  with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be  disappointed.”
3.      Receive  --  Receive is a very powerful word. It means tightly grabing onto to something with great  desire and belief. It means to accept something and claim it for yourself. To receive God is to want  Him and all that He would give to us more than anything else in the whole world.
(Acts 17:11-12) 11 “Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily, to see whether these things were so. 12 Many of them therefore believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:13) “And for this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received from us the word of God's message, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.”
(John 1:12)”But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name”

God forgives and accepts us not because of who we are and what we have done, but because of who Jesus is and what He has done.
